A highly practical, flexible solution for torque measurement in numerous tasks, the T21WN uses non-contacting energy and measurement signal transmission.

A safe and all-inclusive device

The T21WN is a versatile unit that HBM deems suitable for reliable measurement of relatively low static and dynamic torque on both rotating and non-rotating components. Workers can use this torque transducer in test benches for bearings and in material or haptic tests in medical-engineering applications and research laboratories, for instance. Durham Instruments recommends it for use in such fields as general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, the medical sector, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, and transportation.

This torque transducer is a safe and all-inclusive device that provides maintenance-free operation, rotational-speed measurement with 360 pulses per revolution, and angle-of-rotation measurement with an integrated measurement system. Among the other features and specifications of the device:

• EtherCAT and PROFINET
• HBM accuracy class of 0.2
• Input voltage from ten to 28.8 volts
• Measuring bandwidth of up to one kilohertz
• Nominal rotational speed of up to 20,000 revolutions per minute
• Nominal torque range from 0.1 to 200 newton metres
• Output signal of plus or minus ten volts and nominal (rated) torque
• Standard voltage and frequency outputs (plus or minus ten volts; ten kilohertz plus or minus five kilohertz)

A wide range of accessories is available for this device. The lineup includes connection cables in five- or ten-metre lengths, a cable socket with 12 pins, bellows couplings, a VK20A junction box, and TIM-EC/TIM-PN/ClipX interface modules.

The T21WN can be operated with the bellows couplings in any mounting position; this includes horizontally, vertically, or at an angle. Additional elements must be supported adequately for the latter two positions. Users must not overstretch the bellows couplings beyond the permissible flexibility limits.
