The KPSI 300DS submersible hydrostatic level transducer by Measurement Specialties
For top-level test and measurement devices for the industrial market, one of the best sources is Measurement Specialties. This manufacturer, whose products are available in Canada through Durham Instruments, produces transducers among other items – including the innovative KPSI 300DS submersible hydrostatic level transducer.
The KPSI 300DS by Measurement Specialties is designed specifically for small-bore applications and to handle the rigorous environments of deep water-level measurements.
Precise measurement under adverse conditions
Measuring ¾ of an inch in diameter and with plus or minus 0.5 per cent FSO static accuracy, this submersible hydrostatic level transducer offers repeatable, precision-depth measurement under almost all adverse conditions. Among its advantages is a highly accurate pressure-sensor assembly built to deal with hostile fluids and gases. Measurement Specialties has integrated this assembly with supporting electronics in a durable waterproof housing, which is made out of 316 stainless steel or titanium.
The KPSI 300DS also has a custom-manufactured electrical cable attached to it; this cable includes Kevlar members that help to prevent errors from cable elongation, as well as a unique water block feature that seals itself if the cable is accidentally cut. In addition, the transducer comes with a SuperDry Vent Filter, which stops moisture from entering the vent tube for a minimum of one year without maintenance, even in extremely humid work conditions.
This submersible hydrostatic level transducer comes with a two-year warranty. Other notable features include the following:
Among other specifications for the KPSI 300DS: proof pressure of 1.5 x FS; burst pressure of two x FS; compensated temperature range from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius; and operating temperature range from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius.
Measurement Specialties recommends this device for such applications as down hole, level control, and pump control. Durham Instruments deems it suitable for use in several industries, including general manufacturing, automation and controls, mining, power generation, and research and development.
