JM Concept's JK 0030A1 loop isolator

JM Concept makes its test and measurement products accessible to Canadian businesses through Durham Instruments, like the JK 0030A1 powered loop isolated transmitter. This loop isolator is designed to isolate 0…4…20mA and constructed with a guarantee of at least five years of dependable performance. Measuring 22½ by 81 by 98 millimetres (mm), the JK 0030A1 includes a universal power supply, sensor power supply, and hot-swappable plug.

BASELINE boards available separately

This loop isolator is a versatile device that suits a broad range of sectors. Durham Instruments deems it suitable for use in the general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food-processing, pharmaceuticals, forestry, medical, military, mining, packaging, power-generation, alternative-energy, and transportation industries and in research and development.

The instrument comes in a 22½-mm case, and BASELINE boards are available separately; customers may also contact the supplier for multi-converter boards. It also comes with three possible input/output settings – 0-20mA/0-20mA, 4-20mA/0-20mA, and 4-20mA/4-20mA. For input gauges, a current (continuous) option at 0-20mA or 4-20mA can be used, as can a two- or three-wire sensor supply at 24 volts to a maximum of 29mA. The output gauge has a current of 0-20mA or 4-20mA. Other specifications of the JK 0030A1:

  • Auxiliary-source voltage supply – 22-240Vdc or 90-230Vac, 50/60 hertz
  • Current input impedance – 4¾ ohms
  • Input maximum current – 200mA
  • Input/output isolation – 1,500Vrms, 50 hertz, one millinewton
  • Maximum consumption – less than 5½ volt-amperes
  • Operating temperature – from -10 to 60 degrees Celsius
  • Options – tropicalization in a 22½-mm case, auxiliary source of 20-60Vac, and lightning shock resistance
  • Permissible impedance on the current output – less than 800 ohms
  • Precision class – 0.1
  • Protection factor – IP20 Black self-extinguishing polyimide housing V0
  • Residual ripple on current output – less than 150 microamperes
  • Response time – less than 100 microseconds
  • Supply/input-output isolation – 4,200Vrms, 50 hertz, one millinewton
  • Thermal drift – less than 50 parts per million

A six-step output-setting procedure begins with connecting a current generator to the input terminals.
