Endress+Hauser’s Water Challenge makes waves: Building a brighter future in Vietnam

An important aspect of the success of the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge is the group-wide team spirit.

Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd. is a leading supplier of industrial test and measurement solutions, and it also prides itself as a corporate citizen. Last year, as the parent corporation in Switzerland celebrated its 70th anniversary, it also reached an impressive fundraising goal that resulted in the construction of water houses in Vietnam.

Over 2023, hundreds of company employees worldwide took part in the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge, undertaking joint activities while collecting donations for a worthy cause.

Three times around the world

The workers’ goal was to circumnavigate the globe via running, swimming, cycling, hiking, and other physical activities. The Endress+Hauser team reached this goal in less than five weeks; the employees circumnavigated the globe more than three times, as 622 participants from 20 countries covered a total of 133,049 kilometres.

The donations from the anniversary component of the Water Challenge were earmarked for two water projects in Kon Tum, a central province of Vietnam located on the border of Laos and Cambodia. The funds enabled the construction of two additional water houses, following the first one built in 2022. The third water house officially opened at the end of January, with the Endress+Hauser Vietnam project-management team working closely with those responsible at the local site. Thanks to the company’s efforts, three Vietnamese villages now have dependable access to clean drinking water, which simplifies the lives of 2,500 people – including more than 500 families – who live in this rural area.

Through the Water Challenge, Endress+Hauser applies its business commitment to a safe, economical, and environmentally friendly water supply to the nonprofit sector. Employees across the globe collect money through charity runs and other joint campaigns to make sure that people have access to clean drinking water. Endress+Hauser matches each of the donations with the proceeds going to select aid projects in Asia, Africa, and South America.

And the Water Challenge success story is far from over. This year, the goal of this initiative is to build a water project in Bushbuckridge, South Africa. Endress+Hauser not only satisfies customers; it also plays a worthy part in humanitarian efforts.
