Endress+Hauser celebrates its 70th anniversary with international conferences, lavish party

More than 300 Endress+Hauser employees took to the stage at Messe Basel exhibition centre for the anniversary celebration.

This year, the Endress+Hauser Group turns 70 years old. That means seven decades of world-class test and measurement instrumentation for businesses around the globe. The corporation celebrated this important milestone on June 30 with a lavish party for 5,500 employees at the Messe Basel exhibition centre in Basel, Switzerland.

Prepared for more than a year and a half by the company, this grand celebration came on the final night of a week of anniversary-related events.

Customer forum on sustainability

The preceding days had included a customer forum on sustainability that attracted 850 international guests. In addition, more than 900 Endress+Hauser employees participated in international conferences, including the Young Generation Networking Day, which welcomed more than 600 young people from around the world. The company invited employees from across the region, including those from its Swiss, German, and French locations.

The Endress+Hauser team announced an important staff change at the final celebration. Supervisory Board president Dr. Klaus Endress is stepping down from this position at the end of 2023, to be succeeded by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Matthias Altendorf. The company and its family of shareholders paid homage to the lifetime achievements of Dr. Endress, while also recognizing the contributions of Altendorf. The audience also got to meet Dr. Peter Selders, who will replace Altendorf as CEO; up to now, Dr. Selders has served as managing director of Endress+Hauser Level+Pressure in Maulberg, Germany.

At the party, Endress+Hauser put on a presentation about its history, accompanied by an orchestra playing contemporary music. More than 300 employees from different locations looked back at the past 70 years with musical performances – followed by an exclusive concert by Swiss pop star Stefanie Heinzmann at midnight.

The customer forum, which also brought in 60 representatives of the international technical press, dealt with the sustainable transformation of industry, for which Endress+Hauser measurement technology ensures safe, eco-friendly, dependable, efficient operation. High-profile speakers discussed such topics as the energy transition, the circular economy, and energy and resource efficiency. Subsidiaries and industrial partners participated in a large exhibition that offered insights into technical developments.
