The JM Concept TELIS 1000 converter

JM Concept measurement instrumentation recently became available in Canada through Durham Instruments. One of the more innovative solutions available is the TELIS 1000 series of bridge input modules. Available in two models, each device is an isolated converter with quadruple galvanic isolation, dedicated to the measurements of strain gauges.

The TELIS 1000 is coupled with a sensor power supply, a digital input, one or two analog outputs, up to two relays, and an RS485 communication port Modbus RTU.

BASELINE boards ordered separately

Guaranteed for five years of effective operation, both of these models (the TELIS 1000U1 and the TELIS 1200U1) are converters from the TELIS range dedicated to measurements with a gauge bridge. Both have one analog each, while the 1200U1 has two relays; both measure 81 millimetres (mm) in height and 98 mm in depth, while the 1000U1 has a case width of 22½ mm and the 1200U1 has a case width of 45 mm. Customers must order BASELINE boards separately and can consult with the manufacturer for multi-converter boards.

Other specifications of these JM Concept bridge input modules:

  • Display type: LCD backlit
  • Display colour: blue
  • Other display characteristics: five characters, five lines, programming joystick with five positions
  • Voltage input impedance: 50 ohms
  • Permissible impedance on current output: less than 300 ohms
  • Permissible impedance on voltage output: less than 700 ohms
  • Input: plus or minus 300 millivolts, display from zero to 100
  • Output: 4-20 mA, display from zero to 100
  • Relay alarm: high
  • Relay threshold: 50
  • Communication speed: 9,600 bauds
  • Slave address: n˚ 1

The programming joystick allows the user to configure the parameters displayed on the front panel screen, and a programming lock enables locking on the front panel or by the IXLOG software, with unlocking by a long press on the joystick. Users can customize the display resolution, contrast, and more.

This isolator series is suitable for applications in many industrial sectors. Durham Instruments deems it appropriate for general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, the medical field, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, transportation, and research and development.
