Shinko's GR200 series of paperless recorders

Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. carries test and measurement solutions from a variety of world-renowned manufacturers, including Shinko Technos. Meeting the needs of businesses for process measurement and control of such factors as temperature and humidity, the Shinko lineup consists of alarms, controls, indicators, monitors, scanners, and relays – and two types of recorders.

Customers have access to two models of Shinko recorders through the Mod-Tronic inventory: videographic recorders, and paper chart recorders.

Synthesizing and documenting ideas

Shinko’s videographic recorders offer graphic recording, which is the real-time translation of conversations or presentations into text and images. Videographic recorders undertake three actions at the same time – they listen for key ideas, synthesize them, and document them in visual form. Mod-Tronic offers the Shinko GR200 series of paperless recorders.

The standard GR200 paperless recorder has a large TFT colour graphic display measuring 144 millimetres (mm) and with a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels. Other features include simple operation, multi-point recording (standard of nine points, with a maximum of 18 points), and a DI, DO, and Modbus protocol. Users can toggle through different displays with a one-touch key and record more for longer with a compact-flash memory card. PC supporting software is included with this unit, and a compact and lightweight portable model is also available.

A paper chart recorder is an electromechanical instrument that records an electrical or mechanical input trend onto a piece of paper, serving as the chart. These devices can record several inputs by using various colour pens and may do so onto strip charts or circular charts. Mod-Tronic carries the Shinko HR-200 series of hybrid recorders, which accept input from DC voltage or current, thermocouples, or resistance temperature detectors. Each unit also has a vertical panel for mounting.

A hybrid recorder in this line has a recording width of 100 mm, a standard communication function, and a large LED display that measures 18 mm in height. The HR-200 series is compact and meets the safety requirements of the IP65, CE, Underwriters Laboratories, and CSA Group standards. Shinko particularly recommends this series for small-scale control panels.
