The latest innovation in Endress+Hauser Canada’s long line of measurement instrumentation is the Turbimax CUS50D absorption sensor. This is a robust, highly reliable tool for measuring turbidity and suspended solids in hostile work environments. The CUS50D joins the manufacturer’s family of proven turbidity sensors, like the universal CUS51D reflective sensor and the extremely accurate CUS52D low-level turbidity specialist – all essential for industrial processes in which solids measurement is critical.

A robust polymer measuring surface

This absorption sensor allows unattended operation in a broad range of wastewater and process applications, including measurement of solids content in sludge, flocculent dosing, and concentration measurement of milk products in wastewater. Other uses for the CUS50D include concentration measurement in titanium dioxide and other process media and in very dark media, as well as turbidity measurement in chemical processing and concentration measurement of hot water in food processing.

The CUS50D has a robust polymer measuring surface that perfectly suits aggressive media, such as salt water. The surface also minimizes the risk of dirt accumulation, and an optional air cleaning system eliminates all surface contamination. The device’s dual path-length design of five and ten millimetres guarantees the best measurement in many applications, including dark fluids and sludge. It is also corrosion-resistant.

Other unique features include the advanced digital signal processing and the Memosens protocol in the Liquiline analytical product portfolio, both of which result in consistently accurate measurement. The absorption sensor is pre-calibrated for all measurements and includes a variety of application models, so all the user has to do is pick the appropriate model.
