The Teledyne Hastings HPM 4/5/6, available from Durham Instruments

Teledyne Hastings Instruments has created an innovative upgrade in its famous line of Hastings Gauges, which have earned a reputation for stability, reliability, and high accuracy. The HPM 4/5/6, which is available in Canada from Durham Instruments, is a handheld, digital, battery-operated vacuum gauge with a precision A/D converter, as well as a microprocessor to measure the thermocouple tube’s signal output.

This vacuum gauge is built for stable, accurate operation even in the most demanding work conditions.

Good for numerous applications

The Teledyne Hastings HPM 4/5/6 is ideal for measuring tasks in several different work applications, including vacuum insulation, refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning, transformer filling and maintenance, and particle accelerators. Durham Instruments recommends this gauge for the automation and general manufacturing sectors, as well as research and development.

During the gauge’s operation, its microprocessor converts the measurement into a pressure reading by employing the gauge tube’s well-defined output/pressure relationship. The gauge then displays the results on a bright, easy-to-read graphical display.

The HPM 4/5/6 runs on nine-volt batteries and is designed for compatibility with the DV-4, DV-5, and DV-6, which are among Teledyne Hastings’ most successful gauge tube families. It is also compatible with calibration reference tubes.

The instrument’s features include the following:

  • An indicator for battery status;
  • Torr, mbar, and Pascal units;
  • Protective covering;
  • A rugged carrying case; and
  • A detachable cable.

Using the HPM 4/5/6 has considerable advantages over similar instruments, such as its easy installation, its battery life of more than 30 hours, and its highly efficient operation that saves costs in the long run. It can handle a temperature range from -18 to 55 degrees Celsius with the supplied alkaline battery, or from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius with a lithium battery. Teledyne Hastings constructs all of its vacuum gauges with stringent quality-control standards for design, build, and manufacturing technique.

Trust the HPM 4/5/6 for optimal vacuum measurement.
