Shimana datalogging kit economically tests ergonomics

The Shimana SHPMEK Series Datalogging Ergonomics Testing Kit, available from Digital Measurement Metrology (DMM), is designed for job task analysis, muscle strength and ergonomic force testing. The kit features a force gauge, padded attachments and double or single handles — everything a user needs to simply and accurately complete a strength assessment and ergonomic studies. All of this, plus it’s “probably the most economical solution on the market today,” according to DMM.

Kit features

The crown jewel of the kit is the Shimana Digital Force Gauge, designed for push and pull force testing. The gauge has programmable limits, which provides quick visual and audible indications if a test passed or failed on its large, backlit, 180-degree auto-reversible LCD display. The gauge can easily data log a reading at the push of a button for simple data acquisition, or be set to continuously store data, which can be viewed on the screen, sent to a printer, or loaded for analysis on the free PC software that comes with the kit. It features a 1,000 point memory with definable groups, which means multiple tests can be recorded and easily separated upon loading.

The kit also comes standard with non-slip double and single handles, which can be easily fixed by screwdrivers for both push and pull applications. In addition, flat, curved and square padded attachments, which can be mounted directly on the force gauge, come with the kit to allow for compression and tension testing. The kit also comes complete with an AC adapter and a carrying case. 

The Shimana Datalogging Ergonomics Kit is available in two capacities — a 500N (110 lbf) version and a 1000N (220 lbf) version.
