Gorman-Rupp makes various municipal pumps.

John Brooks Company Limited carries a wide range of pumping solutions and more for municipal applications, including an extensive selection by Gorman-Rupp. The lineup includes self-priming centrifugal pumps, standard and horizontal end-suction centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, and engine-driven pumps, serving every community’s fluid-handling requirements from clean water to wastewater.

Customers can enhance such applications as wastewater and sewage handling, water systems, or emergency backup and bypass with Gorman-Rupp’s municipal pumping portfolio.

Durable, dependable pumps since 1933

Gorman-Rupp developed its first self-priming centrifugal pump in 1933, providing municipalities with durable, dependable pumps that perform in demanding environments. Today, Gorman-Rupp’s global network of distributors like John Brooks Company employs industry professionals offering firsthand knowledge of the most pressing challenges of the municipal sector – helping customers achieve the industry’s lowest life-cycle costs while benefiting from minimal service interruption.

In addition to standard pumps, Gorman-Rupp makes lift stations, water booster/reuse stations, and emergency backup and bypass pumping solutions for municipal applications. The company’s above-ground lift stations for sewage handling include the ReliaSource brand of 100 per cent custom-engineered models. Lift stations are usable in new wastewater collection systems for community expansion or to retrofit existing pumping systems. Gorman-Rupp’s pressure booster/reuse stations include pumps, motors, valves, and controls housed in weatherproof fibreglass or steel enclosures in above-ground designs.

The manufacturer’s engine-driven emergency pumping systems provide a reliable alternative to standard emergency generators for lift-station backup and bypass. The Gorman-Rupp team designs them to operate in many scenarios in which generators are ineffective, and they offer the best available protection from sanitary sewer overflow.

Specific examples of municipal pumps:

  • Self-priming centrifugal heavy-duty solids-handling pumps. Five distinct pump series of various sizes.
  • Self-priming centrifugal limited solids-handling pumps. The Super U series ranges in size from 75 to 150 millimetres, with maximum solids of 31.8 millimetres.
  • Standard horizontal end-suction centrifugal pumps. The 6500 series ranges from 75 to 400 millimetres in size, with maximum solids of 101.6 millimetres.
  • Submersible centrifugal solids-handling pumps. The SF series, sized from 75 to 200 millimetres, with solids up to 76.2 millimetres.
