With two main components

The Axxair orbital welding system is a boon to welding in various industries. Aerospace workers often deal with small welded assemblies constructed from titanium and other exotic materials, for instance, and this system can stop material oxidation. In oil and gas, workers must weld tubing together to move liquids in large assemblies that cannot rotate, while nuclear power needs the high-quality welding that is consistent with the Axxair.

This orbital welding system has two main components. The Axxair Orbital Fusion Closed Welding Head fully encompasses the assembly being welded, to eliminate the risk of oxidization that may happen in applications with only gas nozzles. The welding head also includes a ring drive that enables 360-degree motion around weld joints without affecting the torch angle. The head can even exceed complete rotation for tasks needing slope-in and slope-out parameters.

This welding head is available in three versions to accommodate varying diameters, from ¼ of an inch to 4½ inches. Red-D-Arc can supply different-sized clamping jaws to insert into the head, to ensure correct clamping and sufficient shielding gas coverage.

The second component of the Axxair system is the SAXX-200EDGI Orbital Fusion Closed Welding Inverter Power Supply. It delivers the necessary electric energy for welding applications, via the welding head and out the tungsten electrode. This power supply has a 7½-inch colour touchscreen that allows outstanding human-machine interfacing. Users can enter diameter, material type, thickness, and other specifics.
