Void Filler

Denso products continue to protect Rainbow Bridge from corrosion and deterioration.

Denso North America is trusted by infrastructure workers across Canada for high-quality sealing and corrosion-prevention solutions. From major cities to pipeline companies, a wide range of clients rely on Denso for long-term protection. One key example is Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls, a major border crossing between Canada and the United States. Denso Void Filler was once picked to protect this bridge’s cable supports.

Two thousand litres used

Niagara Falls is one of the world’s top tourist destinations, and Rainbow Bridge has accommodated millions of tourists and travellers across the border since 1941. It is one of several large suspension bridges over the Niagara River, a steel arched structure that spans the river for a distance of 950 feet.

In 2007, Denso was awarded a contract to provide anti-corrosion protection on Rainbow Bridge’s stranded cable supports. To do the job right, the company chose to use its own Denso Void Filler. The project required ten 200-litre drums of this material, or a total of 2,000 litres.

Denso’s unique brand of Void Filler is trusted by construction and infrastructure companies for its excellent flexibility and its ability to penetrate and wet existing corrosion. Unaffected by water, acid, and salt, Denso Void Filler is strong enough to protect bridges for a long time.

More than ten years later, this material is still doing its job. Denso is still proud to have been chosen as the key supplier for such an important and high-profile project, and its legacy shows in the continuing strength and stamina of the Rainbow Bridge, which continues to be corrosion- and deterioration-free. Niagara Falls attracts nearly 28 million visitors each year, many of whom cross this bridge for another spectacular view, and Denso is now part of that story.

If Denso products are strong enough to protect infrastructure at one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, they are more than good enough for other common applications.
