There are several different types of protective pipeline outerwraps available from Denso, which work for various applications. Items available in Canada:

• Coloured PVC tape. This tape works for colour-coding applications and for protection of Denso petrolatum, bitumen, or butyl tape. PVC tape also offers good impact resistance and conformability.
• Glass outerwrap. This is a fibreglass cloth that is impregnated with a water-activated resin. Users wrap it over Denso petrolatum tape for cast-like protection, as it resists water, acid, salt, and soil organics.
• Poly-Wrap. Made out of high-performance metallocene resins, this 150-gauge shrink wrap is recommended mostly for protecting petrolatum-tape systems in applications that involve either straight pipes and piles or irregular fittings and valves. Poly-Wrap provides extra-strong holding force, with pre-stretch as high as 250 per cent.
• Rock Shield. This solution is ideal for protection of anti-corrosion coatings on pipelines in work environments in which rocky backfill is likely. Rock Shield absorbs the impact of uneven backfill while it minimizes abrasion from pipe movement under the ground. Denso carries both standard and heavy-duty versions of this product.
• Utility tape. Denso utility tape protections petrolatum tape in applications both above and below ground, with high impact resistance and conformability.
• UV glass outerwrap. Provides top-grade mechanical and impact strength with long-term protection of pipes and piles above ground, underground, or underwater. With resistance to water, acid, salt, and soil organics, and provision of ultraviolet stability.
