The success of Canada’s oil and natural gas industry depends on the safe transport of energy products over long distances via pipelines. Standards like CSA Z662 – Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems, first published in 1994 and updated every four years, are designed to help ensure this safety and success.
The latest edition of CSA Z662 is scheduled for release at the end of June 2015. Representing the culmination of more than 40 years of pipeline standards development, the 2015 edition expands the standard’s scope and provides greater clarifications on specific clauses that help reduce risk and improve efficiency and reliability in pipeline projects.
