Mod-Tronic is the ideal source for miniature bearing RTDs, thermocouples

Three MINCO miniature sensors are available.

This includes a diverse lineup of miniature bearing embedment RTDs and thermocouples, along with related products. These are small, rugged sensing instruments that users can install in babbited bearings for early warning of overheating. Options available include single or dual elements, general-purpose or non-sparking models, and bolt-on surface RTDs.

Four different case styles

Mod-Tronic supplies these miniature bearing embedment RTDs and thermocouples in four different case styles. The sizes range from two to 7.6 millimetres. Over-braid lead wires come in Teflon, polyimide, or stainless steel.

Mod-Tronic offers the following three types of miniature bearing embedment RTDs and thermocouples for Canadian businesses:

• Bearing embedment sensors. Miniature sensors that can be installed in or beneath the babbitt layer of bearing shoes, to monitor metal temperature and give early warning of oil film breakdown. Although they are smaller than most bare ceramic elements, bearing embedment RTDs have metal cases and insulated leads to withstand touch working environments.
• ATEX-approved bearing embedment sensors. These non-sparking MINCO embedment sensors are for monitoring the temperatures of thrust bearings, with four case styles that provide a broad range of installation choices. They are certified for use in Zone 2, Group IIC hazardous areas.
• IECEx-approved bearing embedment sensors. Immersion sensors with stainless steel thermowells for inserting right into liquid streams, with sensing probes that users can remove without breaking the fluid seals. Brass thermowells also available.

In addition, Mod-Tronic carries related MINCO products, particularly feedthroughs, oil seals, and elastomer-filled cable and extension wire. The oil seal feedthrough cable option provides an oil-tight seals where a cable exits machine housing, preventing oil wicking inside wires and leakage around wire insulation. The oil seal elastomer-filled cable option is a sensor cable with a fill that extends along the entire cable length.

Also available are lead wire and cable oil seal fittings, to prevent oil wicking with bearing sensors in rotating equipment, and bolt-on RTD sensors designed for simple installation in industrial environments.
