Shonko makes panel-mounted controllers.

Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. offers a broad range of industrial test and measurement solutions, including a selection of options by Shinko Technos. Among the products available are two categories of temperature and process controls: one selection that is designed and manufactured with panel mounts, and one line with DIN rail mounts.

As devices used to control temperature, temperature and process controls first measure the temperature (i.e., the process variable) and compare it to the desired (or set) value.

A variety of features

The models with panel mounts come with a variety of features, such as regulatory compliance, PC programmability and security, and a range of inputs, outputs, displays, controls, and capabilities, as well as operating temperature ranges. The Mod-Tronic team carries no less than 16 series of these temperature and process controllers. Most of these variations have inputs for resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and all of them can work with thermocouples; aside from the RC-600 series, all of these models have inputs for DC current and voltage too.

In addition to this, all of the panel-mount models have outputs for mechanical relays, while some others work with pulsed voltage. All are compatible with power from 100 to 240 volts.

A DIN rail is a metal rail of a standard type that is used widely for mounting circuit breakers and industrial control equipment inside equipment racks. These products are usually made out of a cold rolled carbon steel sheet with a zinc-plated or chromated bright surface finish. Mod-Tronic offers three series of temperature and process controls with DIN rail mounting: the DCL-33A series, the DCL-33A Limit series, and the NCL-13A series.

All three of these controller models work with RTD, thermocouple, DC current, and DC voltage input types. All of them also have outputs for mechanical relays, while the DCL-33A series’ outputs are also compatible with pulsed voltage and current, and the NCL-13A series’ outputs work with pulsed voltage, current, and open collector. DCL-33A Limit and NCL-13A models have power of 24 VDC; the DCL-33A series offers power of 100-to-240 volts AC or 24 volts AC/DC.
