The optoNCDT ILR2250-100 series by Micro-Epsilon

Hoskin Scientific Ltd. offers a full range of solutions by Micro-Epsilon, which is renowned as one of the top sensor manufacturers in the world. The portfolio includes the optoNCDT ILR2250-100 series of laser distance sensors, designed for exact, highly accurate distance measurement in industrial environments and usable on many different surfaces.

Signal stability, a compact and lightweight design, and a measuring range of up to 100 metres (m) are among the key features of these laser distance sensors.

Reflector extends measuring range

Perfect for industrial tasks, each unit in the optoNCDT ILR2250-100 series has an integrated AUTO measurement mode that allows dependable measurement even on dark, partly reflecting and remote measuring objects. Attaching a reflector to the measuring object extends the distance-measuring range up to 150 m. Other technical specifications of these sensor options from Hoskin: linearity of plus or minus ½ a millimetre (mm); resolution of 0.1 mm; repeatability of 300 micrometres; and analog output and digital interfaces, including RS422, USB, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, and IO-Link.

Each of these laser distance sensors offers high speed and is compatible with logistics and automation technology, the metals sector, and production monitoring. The entire aluminum die-cast housing and its low weight allow easy integration on many industrial work environments. The long measuring range makes the sensor suitable for measurement applications in logistics, factory automation, and drone tasks for distance measurement from the air.

One model in this series, the ILR2250-100-10, has an IO-Link interface, the communication standard for automation technology. This interface makes data communication extremely simple and significantly lowers the sensor’s commissioning time. Meanwhile, the ILR2250-100-H model includes an integrated heating and cooling element that enables operation in a temperature range from -40 to 65 degrees Celsius – making this sensor perfect for outdoor use.
