lifting baskets

Engineered Lifting Systems (ELS) carries Canway lifting baskets.

Lifting baskets are a below-the-crane-hook product line designed to lift and transport materials, components, and equipment for industrial applications. They are used in manufacturing facilities, on construction sites, and in mechanical and electrical contracting. Also known as material baskets or hoist lift baskets, lifting baskets can help workers organize materials for specific tasks and keep inventory contained and under control, in addition to use in transporting applications.

ELS and Canway (the original equipment manufacturer) have developed a standard range of sizes and capacities that cover most common applications.

Compliant with All Relevant Standards

Lifting baskets comply with the ASME BTH B.30.20 standard for below-the-hook lifting devices and conform to CSA S136, with a live load factor of 1.5. All welding is completed in accordance with AWS D1.3. Baskets are constructed with welded HSS tubular frames, typically with four lifting lugs for attachment to rigging. Walls are either welded wire mesh walls or solid steel, and floors are made of steel checker plate.

Sizes range up to 60″ x 60″ x 48″, and capacities go up to 4,000 pounds. Custom sizes and options are available.

Lifting baskets are not intended to carry personnel; they are only for applications that involve lifting materials and equipment.

Each lifting basket has two forklift pockets that make it easy for fork trucks or pallet trucks to handle. Baskets can be stacked on top of each other (when ordered with cup feet) and are thoroughly tested for effectiveness, durability, and safety. They are the safest method available for mezzanine loading and unloading and also serve well as containers for materials and parts or for below-the-hook material handling.
