Durham Instruments is proud to carry measurement instruments for many types of applications. For example, it can supply Acuity AR2000 laser distance meters, which are designed for distance measurement on hot surfaces and bright lighting conditions.

The details

The AccuRange 2000 Laser Distance Meter is known for offering non-contact distance measurement and tracking, with measurement accuracy of one millimetre (.04 inches) across distances up to 500 metres, and with a measurement frequency of up to 100 Hertz. This highly accurate laser measurement sensor even works on hot surfaces, such as red hot, glowing steel, and in bright lighting conditions with high constant or stray light levels, which makes it suitable for use outdoors. Ideal applications include measuring the position of cranes, or the length of lumber, pipe, bricks and other targets. It is also suitable for measuring the position of hot metal targets, such as steel and aluminum, as well as measuring filling levels, object thickness and length. The AR2000 is commonly used in the steel working industry, at rolling mills, in transportation, handling and conveying systems, and for industrial automation and process control.

For convenient data display and parameterization, Acuity AR2000 sensors are equipped with an OLED display and touch keys. Due to their standard interfaces, Acuity sensors are optimized for easy integration into industrial automation and measurement systems.

A leading manufacturer

Acuity develops laser distance sensors and measurement systems for industrial and OEM use. The company’s sensors are used in many applications — from steel casting, paper production and medical imaging, to crane control and surface inspection. Many of Acuity’s lasers and linear position sensors are available in Canada through Durham Instruments.
