Acuity’s AccuRange 2000 Laser Distance Meter, also known as the AR2000, is designed to take accurate measurements from distances up to 500 metres away. It works well outdoors, in bright lights, and on hot targets.

Many applications

Like all of Acuity’s laser sensors, the AR2000 is optimized for easy integration into industrial automation and measurement systems for non-contact distance measurement and tracking. This laser distance meter is ideal for a wide range of applications, including:

  • measuring the position of cranes;
  • measuring the length and thickness of lumber, pipe, bricks and other targets;
  • measuring the position of hot metal targets, such as steel and aluminum, in the steel working industry and at rolling mills; and
  • measuring filling levels.

Many features and advantages

The AR2000 offers a broad measuring range and millimetre accuracy in outdoor and bright lighting conditions, as well as on hot surfaces and most natural surfaces, including liquids and reflectors. It features an absolute measurement accuracy of one millimetre and a measurement frequency of up to 100 Hz.

Acuity AR2000 sensors have an OLED display and touch keys for convenient data display and parameterization. In addition, they feature industrial standard interfaces, a Class 2 visible measuring beam (red), as well as digital and analog data output and trigger functionality.

Availability

Acuity’s AccuRange 2000 Laser Distance Meter is available in Canada from Durham Instruments. The Pickering, Ont.-based distributor has a long history of providing high-quality electronic instrumentation and data acquisition and control systems to companies across Canada.
