self-calibrating thermometer

Endress+Hauser’s new ITHERM TrustSens thermometer features the world’s first RTD sensor capable of fully automated, in situ self-calibration. It effectively eliminates the risk of undetected non-conformities, reduces production downtime, and increases product safety and process efficiency.

With a long track record as a global leader in measurement instrumentation, services, and solutions for industrial process engineering, Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd. keeps the innovations coming. The company’s latest development is the iTHERM TrustSens, the world’s first fully self-calibrating thermometer. This device, which boosts product safety and reduces operating costs, won the 2018 HERMES Award, one of the most prestigious honours in the field of industrial technology, at last year’s Hannover Messe.

Seamless and continuous regulatory compliance

Designed for use in the food-processing and life-sciences industries, the iTHERM TrustSens is a smart temperature probe with the world’s first RTD sensor capable of fully automated, in situ self-calibration. This device effectively eliminates the risk of undetected non-conformities, reduces production downtime, and boosts process efficiency. Another major advantage is seamless, continuous compliance with the requirements of the United States Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory authorities.

Endress+Hauser has developed this thermometer with fully traceable inline self-calibration, capable of generating automatized, audit-proof documentation. With a memory for 350 calibration points, the self-calibration can be converted into printable calibration certificates. The sensor is automatically calibrated using a physical fixed point based on the Curie temperature, which is material-specific and has long-term stability. This self-calibrating thermometer provides the highest measuring-point accuracy with sensor-transmitter matching, while Endress+Hauser’s own built-in proprietary Heartbeat monitoring eliminates all risk of undetected failure.

Recently recognized by Pharma Manufacturing in the “Monitoring & Analytical Devices” category, the iTHERM TrustSens is a compact resistance temperature probe with a hygienic design and hygienic process connection, rated for a measuring range from -40 to 160 degrees Celsius. Endress+Hauser offers more than 50 sterile and hygienic process connections, including thread, clamp, APV-Inline, Varivent, and DIN 11851.

With the iTHERM TrustSens, manufacturing plants get higher product safety and better plant availability. Like all Endress+Hauser instruments, this thermometer meets high standards of quality and technology. For a more productive and efficient facility that costs less to run, trust the iTHERM TrustSens thermometer.
