The E1L handheld thermography camera

Chevrier Instruments Inc. is a top Canadian source of industrial test and measurement solutions from an unmatched range of innovative manufacturers, including HIKMICRO. The E1L handheld thermography camera from this company is a compact, easy-to-use thermal imager that is specially designed for temperature measurement in transformer substation, among other daily operations.

Equipped with a 160-by-120-resolution thermal detector, the E1L thermal camera helps users to find fault quickly according to accurate temperature measurement of high-temperature targets in any environment.

With long-distance laser light supplement

Primarily applied to buildings, HVAC, the automotive industry, and many other sectors, the E1L thermal imager is designed to offer assistant decisions while ensuring health and safety. It detects the real-time temperature and displays it on a 320-by-240-resolution, 2.4-inch LCD screen. The device also has a replaceable memory card that stores recorded captured snapshots, as well as important data.

The instrument supports four palettes (black hot, white hot, rainbow, and ironbow), and its long-distance laser light supplement helps to point to the thermography target. Other notable features of this handheld thermography camera from Chevrier include a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery, up to eight hours of continuous running, and a thermometer distance-to-size ratio of 75 to one – meaning that it can accurately measure a circular target with a diameter of one centimetre within a distance of 75 centimetres.

Among the other technical specifications of the HIKMICRO E1L thermal imager:

  • Field of view: 37.2 by 50 inches
  • Focal length: 3.1 millimetres (mm)
  • Minimum focus length: less than or equal to 150 mm

  • Thermometry accuracy: plus or minus two degrees Celsius; plus or minus two per cent
  • Power: 3.7 volts DC, 0.4 A
  • Power consumption: less than 1.2 watts
  • Hardware interface: micro USB
  • Working temperature: from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius
  • Protection level: IP54
  • Drop-test height: two metres
