warming blower hoses

Hi-Tech Duravent offers two main types of blower hoses for the winter months.

Winter is almost here, and workplaces in Canada need access to warm air – especially outdoor ones, like construction sites or oil rigs, where employees face unpleasant weather conditions. Fortunately, Hi-Tech Duravent has the answer. This Mississauga, Ont.-based manufacturer offers a selection of warming blower hoses designed to keep workers warm in the cold winter months.

These warming blower hoses have been built for use in heaters, exhaust systems, dehumidifiers, and air/fume removal equipment, making them perfect for warming applications.

Warm air in cold areas

Hi-Tech Duravent’s lineup of warming blower hoses operate by circulating warm air into cold work areas, which enables customers to extend their work seasons safely and comfortably.

The company’s two main designs of winter blowing hoses are as follows:

  • The 1PN-EP-HM – A one-ply polyester neoprene coated expanded pitch with an enclosed wire helix and a vinyl wear strip. This is the heaviest-duty hose of the Max-Flyte series, which is also available as a one-ply acrylic coated polyester hose, enforced with a spring steel wire and a wear strip, sold as the 1PA-EP-HM. This hose is good for a variety of applications, including de-humidification, ventilation, portable air conditioning, and preconditioned air; Hi-Tech Duravent recommends it for use in the aerospace, shipyard, facilities, foundry, municipal, and ground-support industries.
  • Therma-Cool PN – A two-ply neoprene hose with foam insulating material and a vinyl wear strip. This insulated hose is ideal for the temporary transfer of heated or cooled air for climate conditioning. Recommended for applications in facilities service, foundries, shipyards, and the municipal sector.

Both of these hoses are yellow with black wear strips, although additional colours are available for the Therma-Cool. Both feature cuffed ends and high compressibility, with drag resistance and self-extinguishing flame resistance, and come in standard lengths of 25 feet.

The 1PN-EP-HM comes in 11 different sizes ranging from four inches to two feet in inner diameter, while the Therma-Cool PN comes in 11 sizes with inner diameters ranging from four to 22 inches. Both can operate in temperatures between -40 and 121 degrees Celsius.
