Unrivalled reliability, efficiency, and performance

It all started in 1945, when married entrepreneurs Wilhelm and Marie Harting established a company called Wilhelm Harting Mechanical Workshops in Minden, Germany. Working out of a hall of only about 100 square metres in a repair shop, the Hartings manufactured energy-saving bulbs, hotplates, electric fencing equipment, waffle irons, electric lighters, and other everyday devices. It was not long before the couple had to expand the company, due to a steady increase in the amount and size of their orders.

Soon, Wilhelm Harting recognized a demand for a robust, versatile, and easy-to-use connector in German industry. He developed the Han connector, which went on to become the global standard in connectivity technology. His company eventually came to encompass 13 production sites and 43 sales companies worldwide, all focusing on solutions for data, signals, and power.

HARTING Canada was founded in 2011 and continues the parent company’s proud tradition of delivering unrivalled reliability, efficiency, performance, and innovation. Its Montreal facility is where the company manufactures circuit-board technology and customized cabling solutions. These are products that respond to real-world issues and meet individual company needs. Examples include electrical connectors, device terminations, backplanes, network components, and cable harnesses for networks and machinery and for power and data applications in plants.
