The GHS-10 rotary gear pump by Gorman-Rupp

York Fluid Controls Ltd. offers the complete selection of Gorman-Rupp fluid-handling products. This includes heavy-duty, self-priming rotary gear pumps that are ideal for asphalt. These units combine high-performance materials with innovative design to exceed the results of competitors’ similar solutions. With premium-quality features for performance and serviceability, these three models of Gorman-Rupp asphalt pumps provide bidirectional, non-pulsating flow and are hydraulically tested prior to shipment.

Reliable handling of viscous asphalt

These self-priming rotary gear pumps are tough units that handle all asphalt applications, from refinery and terminal storage to hot mix and roofing plants. They function with clean, blended, emulsion, or filled asphalts, including abrasive, limestone/silica sand roofing materials. Benefits of these Gorman-Rupp pumps include high-strength gears for reliable handling of viscous asphalt, deep-end feed area for superior priming performance, interchangeable, rear-pullout seals that minimize costly maintenance, thermal jackets for temperature control and smooth operation with jacket-related viscous liquids, and optimized shaft support locations for long life.

Three sizes are available – medium-, heavy-, and extreme-duty. The GMS series of medium-duty, cast iron pumps is most compatible with clean asphalt and can be configured for various needs. The pumps’ features include high-strength iron gears, idler pins for self-lubrication, deep-end feeds, high-performance shaft brushing, and flexible seal features. Sizes range from one to six inches, with maximum capacity of 600 gallons per minute (gpm) and maximum pressure of 200 pounds per square inch (psi).

The GHS series of heavy-duty asphalt pumps is perfect for filled asphalt and high-pressure bulk, terminal, and refinery applications. Made of cast and ductile iron, they offer externally adjustable clearance and engineered sealing solutions, plus idler pins, thermal jackets, and deep-end feeds. Maximum pressure is 400 psi; size range and maximum capacity are identical to those of the medium-duty models.

Combining high wear resistance with proven gear-pump technology, the GHA series of extreme-duty pumps works for tougher filled asphalts containing silica sand and limestone concentrations, plus other severe tasks. York Fluid Controls supplies sizes from 1½ to six inches, with maximum capacity of 325 gpm and maximum pressure of 200 psi.
