Keystone Steam Supplies carries four distinct types of steam traps.
Is your company looking for a new steam trap? If so, Keystone Steam Supplies is the distributor to turn to. Steam traps are one of our specialties. We know these products are an essential part of all industrial steam systems. Our customers use them for a variety of applications, including heating systems, laundry presses, food processing, textile finishing, water heaters, power generation, plastics manufacturing, and many more.
From thermostatic to thermodynamic
What kind of steam trap are you looking for? At Keystone, we classify them in four distinct groups: Thermostatic, float & thermostatic, inverted-bucket, and thermodynamic.
- Thermostatic steam traps
These traps are designed to keep live steam from passing its point of use while expelling air and condensate from the steam supply into the return line. Each has a one-piece, self-contained cage unit housed by a heavy-duty cast bronze body and a large water- and air-handling capacity. Recommended for radiators and batch-process applications.
- Float & thermostatic steam traps
Three different series available: Parallel, In-Line, and High-Capacity. Each has an air vent and valve that opens when live steam condenses into water and then discharges condensate until the water level goes down. Applications include steam main drips, unit or space heaters, process equipment, water heaters, and chillers and coils.
- Inverted-bucket steam traps
Recommended for low maintenance with medium- and high-pressure steam. The inverted-bucket design has corrosion-resistant stainless parts for top performance with blast coils, laundry equipment, water heaters, steam kettles, and other applications. Valve seat and plug are located in the top, away from dirt and debris in the trap body. Seven models available, with capacities from 20 to 20,000 pounds of condensate per hour.
- Thermodynamic steam straps
Thermodynamic steam traps are used for high pressure applications and can typically handle pressures up to 600 PSI. They also only have one moving part; a stainless steel disc. Common uses of this type of trap include pressing machines, steam tracing, tanks, industrial processing equipment, small dryers, and high-pressure drips.
