metal conduits

IBIS supplies nine sizes of metal conduits by Flexa.

Among the broad variety of sensor solutions that IBIS Electro-Products Corp. supplies are conduits by Flexa GmbH & Co., a renowned manufacturer of cable protection products based in Hanau, Germany. Flexa’s portfolio includes metal conduits, which are perfect for cable and wire protection, fibre-optic cables, optoelectronics, machine building, lighting, robotics, measuring, electrical installations, and sensor technologies. IBIS also recommends these conduits in the rail, shipbuilding, and automation industries and in packaging machinery.

With good compression strength

A conduit is a tube used to protect and route electrical wiring or cable, often in buildings and other structures. In addition to metal, these tubes may be constructed of plastic, fibre, or fired clay. Flexa metal conduits are made of either galvanized steel or stainless steel, depending on the model. Each has a strip-wound steel wire helix construction, with a hooked, polygonal profile and a round cross-section.

Recommended for use in temperatures ranging from -60 to 220 degrees Celsius, these metal conduits have a sealing level of IP40 and many other advantageous properties:

  • Ultra-flexible design, making them “slinky” in nature;
  • Good compression strength;
  • High stretch resistance; and
  • Lateral compression resistance.

Flexa manufactures these protective conduits in nine different sizes, with outer diameters ranging from ten to 56 millimetres (mm) and inner diameters from eight to 51 mm. Weights range from 53 to 800 grams, while static bend radii go from two to ten centimetres and dynamic bend radii go from five to 25 centimetres. IBIS can supply these conduits in package quantities of 25 and 50 metres, and they are also available on shorter, ten-metre coils, with the two largest sizes in rings.

For the best in cable and wire protection, invest in Flexa.
