When flexibility and control are required in challenging, high-load applications, the new ESBF heavy-duty electrical cylinders from Festo are the ideal solution. Designed for applications that require dynamic forces from 300 N to 17,000 N, these clean-look, high-power mechanical linear drives with piston rod offer what feels like hydraulic performance, but with the cleanliness and efficiency of electrical performance.

Best-in-class options and features

Festo offers a variety of sizes and options with the ESBF Series, ensuring customers get the exact solution to meet their unique requirements. The actuators are available in six sizes, ranging from 32 to 100 mm, and can provide maximum stroke lengths of 800 to 1,500 mm, depending on the size selected.

In addition, 36 standard options are available, as well as optional variants and special strokes. Some of the many options include IP65, Corrosion Class 3 and bellows protection. In fact, a bellows protection kit is available to protect the piston rod, seal and bearings against unwanted media like dust, oil, grease or filings. Additional options include food-grade lubricant (NSF-H1), sealing and sensors, which allow ESBF drives to be used in arduous splash zones. To further improve process reliability, customers can opt to introduce positive pressure in application areas with airborne pollution or dust by using Festo’s unique breathing port on the ESBF.

Festo offers a range of ideally paired motors and other accessories for each ESBF configuration, including servo and stepper motors and integrated drive/gear units. But regardless of which models and options are selected, the ESBF Series is lubricated for life. This greatly reduces maintenance requirements and costs.

Leader in innovation

It’s no surprise that the ESBF comes from the minds at Festo. The global leader in automation technology has earned a reputation for developing innovative pneumatic and electric drive technology for industrial and process automation applications. Whether you’re looking for individual products or ready-to-install solutions, Festo offers the ideal solution from its extensive lineup.
