EXAIR digital flowmeters reduce installation time while maintaining safety

This time, EXAIR has released a line of Hot Tap Digital Flowmeters, which allow installation when compressed-air piping is under pressure – thereby simplifying the installation process and boosting efficiency in the process.

No need to isolate pressure

By doing away with the need to isolate and remove pressure from the pipe, these new flowmeters reduce installation time as they maintain safety. Each one operates by incorporating two valves through which the measuring probes pass, while a sound muffler minimizes noise exposure as it collects chips from the drilling process to prevent installation debris from entering the air stream. Measuring compressed air is the first step in identifying areas with high compressed-air use, as well as compressed-air leaks, and in optimizing air use.

EXAIR ships these digital flowmeters with the required hardware and tools for installation. This includes a drill bit, a drill guide, a muffler for capturing chips, and hex wrenches. Units measuring from two to eight inches include the Hot Tap feature. These are available in standard models that display airflow values on a bright LED screen; an optional data logger is available to capture and manipulate the information, as is wireless capability to transmit the data over a wireless network securely. Flowmeters can express airflow values in either metric (cubic metres per hour) or imperial (standard cubic feet per minute) figures.

Hot Tap Digital Flowmeters comply with strict international safety standards, such as CE and RoHS. EXAIR offers them in various sizes – two, 2½, three, four, six or eight inches – for schedule 40 iron pipe and Type L copper; businesses can also order them for schedule 80 or 10S pipe.
