Endress+Hauser’s new era: Dr. Peter Selders takes the helm as CEO

Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd. has been supplying state-of-the-art test and measurement instruments to Canadian businesses for more than three decades. Its parent company in Switzerland, the Endress+Hauser Group, has undergone many changes for 70 years and counting. Now, the Group has announced another milestone: Dr. Peter Selders has become the new CEO.

Dr. Selders is replacing Matthias Altendorf, who has served the company for 10 years; Altendorf is moving to Endress+Hauser’s Supervisory Board in this management change.

Previous competence-centre managing director

With a doctorate in physics, Dr. Selders is 54 years old and has worked with Endress+Hauser since 2004, previously serving as the managing director of the manufacturer’s competence centre for level- and pressure-measurement technology in Maulburg, Germany. He is only the fourth CEO in the history of Endress+Hauser. Dirk Mörmann, 50, is replacing Dr. Selders as the new head of the company’s level and pressure department; Mörmann was previously the head of technology and a member of the management board.

Altendorf, 56, succeeded Dr. Klaus Endress in 2014 as the first non-family CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group, and he is replacing Dr. Endress, who is now 75, as the president of the Supervisory Board. Two members of the third generation will represent the interests of the shareholder family in the future. On Jan. 1, Steven Endress – a grandson of the company founder – joined the board, as did Sandra Genge.
