Electro-Sensors manufactures many kinds of pulser discs and magnet wheels.
Among the many great measurement solutions available through Durham Instruments are devices for industrial speed measurement. With these products, businesses monitor speed with inductive, magnetic, and other technologies for feedback in challenging environments, like machine RPM, over-speed, under-speed conditions. Examples include various combinations of pulser discs, pulser wraps, speed sensors, housings, and electronic alarm or transmitter modules. Electro-Sensors manufactures many options in this category.
With 120 alternating magnetic poles
Electro-Sensors offers two models of magnet wheels – the 198EM and the 199SM. These 60 Pole Pair devices are ferro-magnetic nylon wheels with 120 alternating magnetic poles infused within the material. With a diameter of 3¾ inches, each unit has the magnetic surface on the outside circumference of the wheel; the rectangular magnets are evenly spaced with small non-magnetized spaces between them.
These wheels are usually mounted on shafts with diameters of up to three inches. They are custom-bored onto the shafts and secured with two set screws. Durham Instruments offers many standard hub sizes, including NEMA C Frame Motor sizes, and they also come in end-of-shaft mount versions.
Also available: eight models of Electro-Sensors heavy-duty pulser discs. These are designed with magnets of alternating polarity embedded in the faces of the discs on the outside edges or circumferences. The end of each shaft to be monitored is centre-drilled and tapped, and the disc is mounted on the shaft end. The magnets function as targets for Hall Effect sensors, which switch as a result of exposure to changing magnetic poles.
