The SINEAX G536 phase angle transducer

Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. partners with Camille Bauer Metrawatt AG to supply some of the world’s most innovative test and measurement instrumentation for Canadian businesses. Among these great industrial products are solutions for electrical power measurement – including two kinds of phase angle transducers. Both of them come under the world-renowned SINEAX brand.

Also known as power-factor transducers, both of these units offer sine, rectangular, or distorted wave forms and are available as measuring sources powered to 230 volts.

Meeting high quality standards

Both of these models of phase angle transducers – the SINEAX G536 and G537 – fulfill all of the important requirements and regulations concerning electromagnetic compatibility, EMV and Safety, or IEC 1010 resp. EN 61 010. They are developed, manufactured, and tested in strict compliance with the ISO 9001 quality-assurance standard. Both are also 24-60 or 85-230 VAC/VDC-powered.

The SINEAX G536 series of phase angle transducers is designed to measure the phase angle or power factor between current and voltage of a single or three-phase balanced network with a sine-wave form. The output signal is in the form of a load-independent DC current or voltage and is proportional to the phase angle resp. power factor between the two measured quantities, current and voltage.

Other features and benefits of this device from Mod-Tronic: nominal input current from ½ to six A; nominal input voltage from ten to 690 volts; measuring-range span from 20 to 360 degrees el; unipolar, bipolar, or live zero-output variables; measuring principle of the zero crossing interval; and AC/DC power supply.

Also available is the SINEAX G537 transducer for phase-angle difference. This device converts the phase-angle difference of two synchronized supplies into a load-independent DC current or DC voltage that is proportional to the measured value. This model has the same ranges of nominal input voltages and measuring limits that the G536 has, as well as the same measuring output, measuring principle, and power supply. Both units are standard as marine version per Lloyd’s Register of Shipping.

Mod-Tronic carries other SINEAX transducers, for power, current, voltage, and frequency, plus power meters.
