The MiniCapt Mobile microbial air sampler

Alpha Controls & Instrumentation Inc. is one of the leading suppliers of industrial sensing, measuring, and controlling solutions in the country for various sectors. Its selection includes active air samplers, such as the MiniCapt Mobile microbial air sampler, designed with a unique antibacterial housing that reduces cross-contamination from monitoring activities.

Used for collecting micro-organisms in clean spaces (a process known as viable monitoring), active air samplers are crucial for meeting Health Canada regulations in some industries.

Filtered exhaust that eliminates contamination

Compressed gases are used frequently in such sectors as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, in which they come in direct contact with products or clean spaces. This is why they need to be monitored with active air samplers, in order to comply with GMP requirements. Alpha Controls has been selling and servicing Particle Measuring Systems for about 10 years now.

To achieve an active air sample, the user places an agar plate inside the unit. Once the sample is drawn, the plate is removed and inspected for any growth – any of which is referred to as a colony forming unit, or a CFU. Based on these results, the user can take appropriate action, such as accepting or rejecting a batch, or certifying a room

The MiniCapt Mobile comes with a broad variety of features, including a rechargeable battery, radial slit pattern, and a HEPA-filtered exhaust. The compressed gas kit is one of the many accessories available for this product and further boosts its ability to monitor compressed gases. The process is easy: the user simply connects the gas kit onto the sampler, then makes sure that the compressed gas line is connected too, before starting the application. The next step is to select the compressed-gas mode and the appropriate pressure settings. Then the sample can be run.

The Alpha Controls team recommends the MiniCapt Mobile for viable environment monitoring and monitoring compressed gasses. Check out the video below for a closer look:
