The M100T and M5000T miniature speed switches
Durham Instruments works with many internationally renowned manufacturers to bring an unsurpassed range of test and measurement solutions to Canadian businesses – like Electro-Sensors, which makes the M100T and M5000T miniature speed switches. These units are full rotation-monitoring systems that are perfect for detecting unwanted slowdown or stoppage in process equipment.
With a terminal block inside the housing for simple wiring connection and installation, both of these switches offer the same operating range.
Compact, self-contained rotation-monitoring system
These rugged and reliable switches are upgrades of the original Electro-Sensors M100 and M5000 speed switches. Among the new features: a terminal block for easy wiring connections; explosion-proof and moisture-resistant cast aluminum housing; and standard voltage of 155 VAC, with other options available. The M100T unit has a relay set-point range from five to 100 revolutions per minute (RPM), while the M5000T has a relay set-point range of between 100 and 5,000 RPM; the user can set the relay to trip within this range.
The SPDT 5-Amp control relay can be used to shut down equipment or sound an alarm, in the event of broken drives, belt slippage, product overload, clogs, jams, or other causes of rotational failure. This detection of potential issues allows proactive maintenance to stop equipment damage, product waste, and excessive downtime in the simplest possible way.
Other features of these new Electro-Sensors miniature speed switches:
The M100T and M5000T speed switches are the ideal pick for monitoring drive trains, power-driven components, crushers, exhaust fans, screw conveyors, and tail pulleys on belt conveyors or elevator legs in a broad variety of industries. Durham Instruments recommends them for use in general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, the medical field, the military, mining, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, transportation, and research and development.
