One of the new Fluke IR thermometers, available from Chevrier

As a major Canadian distribution company for measuring and control instruments for industrial applications, Chevrier Instruments provides a wealth of products from a number of quality manufacturers, including Kimo Canada, Alnor, and Fluke.

One of Fluke’s latest products available from Chevrier is its infrared (IR) thermometer, which boasts three different designs: the 64 MAX, the 62 MAX and the 62 MAX+.

Heatproof, waterproof and dustproof

Fluke’s new IR thermometers are not only lightweight, inexpensive and precise – they are also designed to withstand water, dust, extreme heat, and even a drop from as high as three metres. They are IP54-rated, or built to guard against all airborne contaminants.

These thermometers use the most up-to-date laser technology to deliver highly accurate and repeatable measurements. Each has a backlit LCD display that is easy to read even in dark work environments. Fluke’s IR thermometers can display the minimum, maximum, or average temperature – or the difference between two. Their Hi and Lo alarms can display measurements outside of set limits quickly.

Individual features of the different designs include the following:

  • 64 MAX – Reads a temperature range of -30 to 600 degrees Celsius; distance-to-spot ratio of 20:1; accuracy of up to plus or minus one per cent, or plus or minus one degree Celsius, whichever is greater, at temperatures above 0 Celsius; rotating laser for identifying the area to be measured; can function when the user is not present; internal memory of 99 data point logging; auto capture; flashlight.
  • 62 MAX+ – Reads a temperature range of -30 to 650 degrees Celsius; distance-to-spot ratio of 12:1; accuracy of up to plus or minus one per cent, or plus or minus one degree Celsius, whichever is greater, at temperatures above 0 Celsius; dual rotating lasers for identifying the area to be measured.
  • 62 MAX – Temperature range of -30 to 500 degrees Celsius; distance-to-spot ratio of 10:1; accuracy of up to plus or minus 1.5 per cent, or plus or minus 1.5 degrees Celsius, whichever is greater, at temperatures above 0 Celsius; rotating laser for identifying the area to be measured.
