When determining that a foot control is required for a particular application, one of the first questions that must be answered is “how many functions does the foot control have to perform?” The application often dictates this, which makes the decision for a designer fairly simple. The challenge arises when trying to incorporate those functions into an ergonomic and cosmetically pleasing foot control. Foot Control functions typically range from 1 to 10 functions, but medical applications rarely exceed 5.
