Brenntag Canada was incorporated in June 1897 as Standard Chemical Ltd. to exploit owner Arthur Peuchen’s discovery of a method to extract acetic acid, acetone and wood alcohol from scrap hardwood. A chemical distributor for over 100 years under many names, Including: Stanchem, Travis Chemicals, HCI Canada. We are a primary distributor of chemicals to all industries across Canada, with 6 locations in Alberta.
