York Fluid Controls supplies the ITM 7000 with a wide variety of motor types, such as compressed-air drive and electrical motors, ranging from ½ to two horsepower and gear reduction ratios of 5:1, 10:1, or 21:1. Among the other options are air, electricity, variable speed, and explosion-proof.

The collapsible-impeller technology is what really sets this tote mixer apart. Enabling mixing that tote containers cannot achieve, the collapsible impellers allow the ITM 7000 to overcome the limitation of the standard six-inch opening on plastic totes, as its diameter can expand internally up to 21 inches. The larger blades provide the necessary pumping and tank turnover to bring the product back into specification. Properly sized impellers result in higher quality, better performance, and more energy efficiency.

Its dynamic drive coupling with detachable drive and agitator segments is another major feature of this tote mixer. These detachable segments allow single-person installation and removal, with a design that lets the user buy a single-drive segment and use it on multiple totes with dedicated agitator segments. The agitators do not need to be cleaned between applications, which leads to reduced maintenance and contamination.

The ITM 7000 also has a mount that enables fully enclosed mixing, which distinguishes it from tote mixers that do not close the tote opening when mounted. The mount creates a sealed enclosure that stops foreign particles and contaminants from entering the tote during operation, so mixing and product quality can be controlled.
