Collapsible impellers for better mixing

The ITM 7000 from York Fluid Controls is a portable mixer designed in an innovative way that allows tote tanks to be an important part of quality control when manufacturing a product. With this mixer, new products can be mixed and shipped in plastic totes during the mixer selection process. Because of its potable design, users can benefit from this mixer at every stage of a product’s life cycle, including processing, storage, shipping, and at the end user’s facility.

What makes the ITM 7000 unique is its collapsible impellers, which allow overall mixing of which previous tote containers have been incapable. These impellers can overcome the limits of the standard six-inch openings on most plastic totes. They can expand internally up to 21 inches in diameter as large blades enable the pumping and tank turnover necessary to bring products back into specification. Collapsible impellers are available with Pitch, Dynaflow, and Radial blades.

Another special feature of the ITM 7000 is its dynamic drive coupling. The separable drive and agitator segments allow installation and removal by one person, and users can operate a single drive segment on more than one tote with dedicated agitator segments. Dynamic drive coupling also minimizes cleaning and cross-contamination of agitators.

The ITM 7000 also includes a mount that provides a sealed enclosure on the tote opening, keeping foreign particles and contaminants out of the tote. Manufacturers can control mixing and quality of the product at their end users’ facilities by supplying the mount.

This tote mixer is available with motors ranging from ½ to two horsepower, with options including air, electricity, variable speed, and explosion-proof. Gear reduction ratios of 5:1, 10:1, or 21:1.
