Wainbee Limited recently began a partnership with Yaskawa, the world’s largest manufacturer of robotics automation systems and other solutions. Yaskawa has improved global productivity through automation for more than a century. Canadian businesses, through Wainbee, now have access to two units in the Yaskawa Motoman Smart Series of industrial robots.
Flexible, versatile, and portable, these Yaskawa robotic devices are recommended for such applications as machine tending, material handling, packing, light assembly, and pick-and-pack.
Simple programming and operation
The Smart Series is designed to work safely with humans and complies with international safety standards. Among the key advantages of these industrial robots are pre-configuration and user-friendly setup and deployment out of the box. They are ideal for companies that are new to robotics or need easy automation solutions.
The technology offers simple, intuitive robot programming and operation methods for workers, unlike standard, more complex robot execution, which needs upfront training investment. The Smart Series is easily adaptable to evolving manufacturing needs, and users can deploy and redeploy them for various tasks easily. To make applications and functions user-friendly, Smart Pendant with the patented Smart Frame function is used for programming.
The two industrial robots available, the HC10DT and HC20XP, are both compatible with the YRC1000 and YRC1000micro robot controllers. The HC10DT has a ten-kilogram payload and a 1.2-metre reach, both horizontally and vertically. Precision hand guiding facilitates simple programming for quick implementation of the HC10DT system, and a pinch-less design featuring Power and Force Limiting (PFL) technology monitors force constantly to react quickly to contact. Through-arm utilities conceal cabling, including a Category 6 Ethernet cable. Fellow Wainbee partner Schmalz offers several modular vacuum-gripping options for the HC10DT.
The HC20XP is recommended for palletizing as well as other applications. It also offers a 20-kilogram payload and a 1.7-metre reach. This robust device offers precise, hand-guided teaching for fast implementation, plus four modes of collaborative operation, including PFL technology. Depending on risk assessment, the HC20XP can function with no extra safety features, which reduces costs and saves space. Its easy-to-clean surface works for sanitary environments, such as food processing.
