A new high-performance vacuum generator, the X-Pump SXPi Compact Ejector by Schmalz, is built to handle smooth sealable surfaces under extreme conditions, such as in vacuum systems in press lines for metal sheets.

Consumes less energy in operation

The X-Pump SXPi Compact Ejector is designed for pick-and-place applications with short cycle periods and for preparation and precise monitoring of vacuum systems in automated applications. One variation of this design, the SXMPi, includes IO-Link technology for communication. Other unique highlights of this generator include an integrated air-saving function, condition-monitoring functions with evaluation options (both internal and external), an integrated voltage regulator, and the options of integrated pressure monitoring and suction.

What gives the X-Pump SXPi advantages over similar instruments is its significant reduction in energy consumption, as well as its input and output of process-specific information, its elimination of downtime through process and system monitoring, its additional data on operating status, its compensation of variations in voltage, and its elimination of unwanted air consumption during power loss.

Unique aspects of this instrument’s design include:

• a user display with large-scale operating and display elements;
• control electronics with diverse monitoring abilities;
• an electrical connection via M12 plug;
• a removable silencer;
• a horizontal connection plate with vacuum and compressed-air connection (optional with quick-change adapter);
• an optional integrated pressure sensor; and
• a basic body made of very robust plastic.

The SXMPi is also equipped with a power blow-off module.

With a suction capacity of up to 220 litres per minute and a maximum vacuum of 85 per cent, this compact ejector is a state-of-the-art industrial device.
