The baking sector often uses warm water and soap in washdowns, but meat, poultry, and dairy foods need sodium hydroxide, self-foaming cleaners, foaming acids, self-foaming chlorinated caustic cleaners, and other aggressive chemicals to sanitize bearings, shafting, and direct food-contact areas. For such applications, Daemar offers a combination of linear ball bearings, NP pillow blocks, and ETX scraper seal cartridges for linear motion.

These NP pillow-block systems help to retain lubrication during high-pressure washing, while the cartridges keep caustics and debris from entering and fouling ball circuits. This system allows for self-alignment when shaft parallelism or pillow-block-to-pillow-block centre lines are out of alignment, and it works particularly well with Daemar’s Marvalloy-coated 440C stainless shafting.
