The Parker Hannifin AC10 variable speed drive, available from Wainbee

Wainbee Limited is renowned as a top Canadian source of innovative industrial equipment, including products using motion and control technology by Parker Hannifin. Among the latest breakthroughs from this manufacturer are the new AC10 and AC30 Series of variable speed drives.

The AC10 and AC30 are state-of-the-art solutions for motor-control applications, designed with simplicity and reliability as priorities. Both are compatible with AC induction and Permanent Magnet AC servo motors.

A compact, cost-effective drive

Parker Hannifin’s AC10 Compact Drive is a simple, economical solution for common motor-control applications that require speed or torque control between 0.2 and 180 kilowatts (kW) for IP20, or between 0.4 and 90 kW for IP66. It is an optimal solution for machine builders who need a cost-effective drive that does not skimp on quality.

Despite its compact size, the AC10 has features usually found on drives with higher specifications, such as a sensorless vector mode for control of both AC and Permanent Magnet motors, output frequency as high as 590 hertz, and 150 per cent overload at 0.5 hertz for one minute.

The AC10’s integrated keypad minimizes the time it takes to install and commission the drive; minimal wiring requirements and easy-to-access terminal rails also simplify setup. More importantly, Parker Hannifin’s technological talents guarantee consistent high performance, ensuring maximal uptime and productivity.

With its simple open-loop pumps and fans and its closed-loop process-line applications, the AC30 drive offers very high levels of control. Its advantages include a flexible and very modular construction that allows the easy addition of many modules, integrated macros for many applications, and PLC functionality that makes a separate PLC unnecessary for high control.

The AC30 is designed for use in environment class 3C3 and 3C4 for hydrogen sulphide as standard, and it can handle temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius with an optional integrated EMC filter. The drive is compliant with the substance limits in the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive. Another key benefit is its flexibility: users have the options of open-loop or closed-loop operation, Ethernet, I/O expansion, and operation with different servo motors.
