The Vulcan single-chain fall hoist has a safety factor of five-to-one and complies with several international safety standards, including ASME B30.16, CSA Group C22.2 no. 33, and Underwriters Laboratories Standard 1340 and 1004-1. Its long-lasting brakes have an easily adjustable hold of at least twice the rated capacity, even during power outages. Users can also customize the pendant cable and power-cable length according to their specific requirements. The worm gear drive is the only kind to provide complete control during load lowering. Other features include user-adjustable upper lower limit switches and a cemented, hardened steel alloy lifting chain.

Vulcan tests this hoist at 125 per cent of its working load limit prior to shipping it. Among the options available:
