Rust removal is essential for metal components.

To make metal parts look their best, many businesses put their trust in Vibra Finish. From vibratory finishing to machine rebuilding, deburring, and more, this company has the skills and know-how to provide a wide variety of essential services. One of the most popular of these services is derusting.

Metal components may become prone to rust when they are not used for a while, and this can result in lost productivity and efficiency in their performance. This is especially true in the the summer months, when humidity can take a toll. Rust removal by Vibra Finish’s skilled experts is the answer.

Metal tolerance not affected

Vibra Finish’s approach to derusting is similar to rust inhibiting, but there are notable differences between the two processes. While rust removal eliminates all rust from the surface of the metal, it does not affect any other exposed metal or its tolerances.

The derusting process includes an industrial wash and dry that employs no harsh acids and does not leave any powder residue behind. After the rust removal, one applies a protective coating containing a strong rust inhibitor, typically Vibra-Glo 082G. This water-based rust inhibitor gives the metal short-term protection against wear and corrosion, without any nitrates or borates.

Vibra-Glo 082G is one of five types of environmentally friendly rust inhibitors that Vibra Finish uses in its rust-removal services and sells to those who want to do their own finishing. The other inhibitors include: Vibra-Glo R-232, a short-term inhibitor for iron and steel; R-501, a water-based short-term inhibitor for iron and steel; R-601, another short-term inhibitor for steel and iron; and R-695. Each of these products is available in five-gallon pails, 45-gallon drums, or bulk containers, depending on how much is required for the application.

Vibra Finish always offers rust-removal and -inhibiting services with a quick turnaround, with metal components clean, dry, and protected. With deburring, burnishing, descaling, polishing, cleaning, drying, corrosion-protection, and peening services also available, industrial metal parts always end up in the best possible condition. Always count on Vibra Finish for the best in metal finishing.
