Easier with a sanding pad

The versatility of these vertical tools is most evident when the user applies a sanding pad on the front of the tool, which makes the blending and fine work a lot easier. Each tool comes with operating instructions, a service manual, and wrenches with sizes based on options.

• Vertical grinders for cup wheels. Perfect for big material-removal tasks, these tools are a mainstay in foundries, shipyards, and fabrication shops worldwide. They are trusted for extreme reliability in extreme conditions. Built for use with Type 11 cup wheels.
• Vertical grinders for depressed centre wheels. Designed for Type 27 and 28 wheels, these are recommended for applications in which blending and smoothing are highly important. Guard sizes of seven or nine inches; velocity of 6,000 or 8,000 revolutions per minute.
• Vertical grinders for cut-off wheels. Also known as vertical pile cutters, these are built for the use of large Type 1 cut-off wheels (or Type 41 wheels). A common choice for tuck pointing in the construction sector and ideal for removing risers in difficult-to-reach locations in the foundry industry. Recommended for any application requiring a large cut-off wheel and ample power.
• Vertical polishers and sanders. Perfect for surface-finishing applications, with governing or gearing for maintaining maximum torque. Guard sizes of seven or nine inches; velocity of 6,000 or 8,000 revolutions per minute; two or three horsepower.

A prime benefit of this tool group is its interchangeable parts, like cylinders, end plates, rotor vanes, and bearings. Switching parts between Top Cat tools reduces a company’s spare-parts inventory.
