Intercon Material Handling is proud to offer Active Contact Flange (ACF) end-of-arm-tooling from FerRobotics. This multifunctional, universal add-on features the company’s patented Active Compliant Technology — a sophisticated combination of actuator, sensor, innovative power concepts and fine-tuned high-speed control — which enables any industrial robot to reliably measure the force it applies.
Key features
ACF enables interactive compensation for surface tolerances up to 100 millimetres, with guaranteed consistent contact force. In fact, the process force remains constant, even with changing orientations. The unit’s mechatronic actuator and sensor element offer a high degree of process security and a robust mechanical construction with integrated passive security and high-speed control.
There are two models available. Model ACF HD has a six times higher load capacity and a larger removal rate, while model ACF XS is 60 per cent lighter, making it ideal for use with small robots and workspaces within 1,000 millimetres.
Top advantages
There are many benefits to using ACF end-of-arm-tooling.
Ideal applications
ACF can be used in automotive, aerospace and general industry applications. It is ideal for operations with various tolerance levels, including those sensitive to contact, such as pick and place, inserting, adhering, joining, packing, quality control, pressing, component testing and mounting applications. The tooling is also suitable for surface treatment applications, including grinding, polishing, cleaning, laminating, stripping, brushing, deburring and pressing, and is safe to use on all types of material, including steel, aluminum, titanium, magnesium, carbon, plastic, wood, ceramics, coconut fibre and stone.
