A versatile pump technology

AODD pumps have many advantages over rival pump technologies. They can pump any liquids from pure water to those that are 90 per cent solids without damage, and they can work as slowly as one gallon per minute. They also require no electricity and have a lower cost.

Versa-Matic’s sanitary diaphragm pumps work in two simultaneous cycles. During the suction cycle, the inner chamber fills with compressed air, which causes suction in the opposing diaphragm, which lifts the lower valve ball and pulls in fluid at the inlet. At the same time, the discharge cycle occurs in the left chamber. Here, compressed air in the right inner chamber makes the upper valve ball discharge the fluid.

Unique features of the Sanitary and 3A Sanitary Pumps from Versa-Matic include: a leak-detection system for safety and control; a rotating stand, to enable cleaning and evacuation; and a clean-in-place design. This pump is ideal for the dairy, personal-care, food-processing and pharmaceutical industries. It can handle foods like milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, salsa, chili, chocolate, mayonnaise, and more. Shampoo, soap, creams, cosmetics, and other care products are compatible with it, as are acids and deionized water.

FDA-Compliant Food-Processing Pumps are more economical than the 3A pumps and have sanitary wing nuts for easy assembly, dimensionally interchangeable parts and air sections for seamless upgrades, and a smooth casting finish both inside and outside. Like the 3A pumps, these are useful in the personal-care and food-processing sectors, but cover a much wider range of applications in the latter area – including confectionery, poultry, relish, flavourings, pie filling, and pasta sauce.
