Ohio company Versa-Matic manufactures a wide selection of air-operated double-diaphragm pumps, or AODD pumps, that are available in Canada through York Fluid Controls. One notable example is the Versa-Matic 3″ non-metallic AODD pump, which the manufacturer recommends for applications such as bulk chemical transfer and waste treatment (filter press feed).

Constructed out of one of two wetted materials, either polypropylene or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this 3″ AODD pump is an ideal choice for its relatively low weight, corrosion resistance, and heavy-duty, leak-free construction.

Lighter than the previous model

The Versa-Matic 3″ non-metallic AODD pump has class-leading flow rates of up to 1,060 litres per minute, depending on the level of discharge. Its non-metallic wet side and air side are both corrosion-resistant, and its safe, bolted construction prevents any leaks. Twenty-four per cent lighter than the previous model, this pump is also easier to move and handle.

Other unique performance specifications of the 3″ non-metallic AODD pump: a suction/discharge port size of 3″ ANSI flange, or 80 millimetres (mm) DIN flange; an air distribution valve with no lube, no-stall design; the ability to handle solids of up to 19 mm in size; heads up to 100 pounds per square inch (psi), or 70 metres of water; a maximum operating pressure of 100 psi; displacement/stroke of eight litres; and a weight of only 94 kilograms (kg) in polypropylene or 123 kg in PVDF.
